Matthew Soldner

Dr. Matthew Soldner has served as Commissioner of the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance (NCEE) since 2018. In that role, Dr. Soldner also serves as the Department of Education’s Chief Evaluation Officer. Dr. Soldner’s expertise includes the design and implementation of complex, mixed-methods evaluations; innovative practices designed to improve student outcomes after high-school; postsecondary competency-based education; federal financial aid; and federal statistical policy and practice. His PhD is from the University of Maryland’s College of Education.
